Mercantic is the fruit of one man's imagination, Octavi Barnils, who decided little more than ten years ago to restore his family's estate, a wide, abandoned pottery factory.

His father, Josep Barnils, had opened the kiln on 1955 after a long career in the former African colonies, and it became his source of pride and happiness. Maybe that was the reason why Octavi, his eldest son, made up his mind for a very original artistic and commercial initiative opening a space for antique dealers taking as a model the provençal town of l'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, where famous antiques that attract enthusiasts from all over Europe and America are from.
